A spokesman for the Iraqi Foreign Ministry denied on Monday the participation of parliament speaker Selim Gabouri in a political conference to be held in Doha on Iraq developments.
This conference is a bad precedent, a flagrant interference in internal Iraqi affairs and a clear violation of principles regulating bilateral relations, Ahmed Gamal said.
Gabouri is visiting Doha to boost bilateral relations and not to attend the conference, he added.
He urged the Qatari government to clarify its stance towards that conference, stressing that this conference does not show any support for anti-terrorism efforts in Iraq.
The Iraqi Foreign Ministry expressed on Sunday amazement at holding a conference in Doha on Iraqi affairs without the knowledge of Baghdad government.
It also denounced inviting some figures to the conference who are wanted by justice in Iraq on charges of supporting terrorism.
