U.N. special envoy to Iraq, Jan Kubis, condemned the bombings that took place Thursday in Baghdad and claimed the lives of at least 31 people and wounded dozens.
In a statement, Kubis described the attacks as "cowardly acts" that "not only aim at inflicting a heavy toll on the civilian population, but also seek to weaken the country's unity and destroy its social fabric." Kubis added that the ISIS group "should not be allowed to succeed."
