Antonio Guterres, United Nations Secretary-General, has condemned the terrorist attack in Barcelona on Thursday that killed at least 13 people and wounded dozens of others.
In a statement, Mr. Guterres said that the UN stands in solidarity with the Government and people of Spain in the fight against terrorism and violent extremism, extending his heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of those killed and to the Government and people of Spain, wishing a speedy recovery to those injured.
He also hoped that those responsible for this heinous violence will be swiftly brought to justice.
