UN Security Council condemned all recent attacks in Syria directed against civilians and civilian objects including medical facilities, as well as all indiscriminate attacks, and stressed that these actions may amount to war crimes.
In a press statement, the members of the Security Council recalled that all obligations under international humanitarian law must be respected in all circumstances by all parties.
They recalled, in particular, the obligation to distinguish between civilian populations and combatants, and the prohibition against indiscriminate attacks and attacks against civilians and civilian objects.
Meanwhile, UN Security Council expressed their deep concern at violations of the cessation of hostilities endorsed by Security Council resolution 2268 (2016).
