Yemen's delegate to the Arab League Riyadh al Akbari denounced on Monday the deadly terrorist attack that targeted Boutroseya Church in Cairo's Abbassiya district yesterday.
The blast left 23 persons dead and 49 others injured.
In a statement, the delegate expressed Yemen's solidarity with the Egyptian people and government in face of terrorism.
He renewed Yemen's firm stance that rebuffs all forms of terrorism, calling for uprooting terrorism and holding whover standing behind these dark forces accountable.
He expressed deepest condolences to the families of the victims, wishing all injured a speedy recovery.
The explosion happened at about 10:00 local time during a Sunday service. Most of the victims were womena nd children as the .
A video footage showed the interior of the church littered with broken and scattered furniture, along with blood and clothing on the floor.
Following the attack, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi announced three days of national mourning.
