Moroccan Minister of Culture Mohamed Al Arag raised the importance of Moroccan artistic heritage, saying that it played a major role to support the Moroccan culture as one of the major elements to achieve development in the country. He stressed that the Moroccan arts managed to keep their position between the world arts.
He added, in a statement to “Muslimchronicle”, that the Moroccan government is keen to support the Moroccan arts and to push artists forward during the current critical period, adding that it is important to increase the efforts during the current period to develop the Moroccan arts and not to be limited to support the country’s cultural projects.
He added that the country witnesses currently a critical period in which the government should work seriously to appreciate the arts and to develop them to cope with the development witnessed on the agricultural and industrial sides in order to ensure the preservation of its cultural imprints and ancient loads.
He added that dealing with culture and heritage also requires rational planning, not for creativity in which freedom is a condition of existence but to harmonize cultural interventions of different parties in a way that unites the objectives of the national cultural policy and the country's overall development plan
