The Algerian writer Daly Yousef Rayan, presents her first novel entitled "Balqis", in Cairo International Book Fair, which has been opened on Thursday.
"The novel "Balqis" is a social novel with a kind of drama. It is the first experience to me in writing novels. It is about a girl named Balqis from Algeria sticking to the customs and traditions, she lost her virginity,” Daly told Arabs Today.
"The novel reflects many of the values such as family, customs, traditions and friendship. These values have emerged through her strong friendship with "Ekram", a student at the University of Canada who came to Algeria to spend vacations, who has become a key figure in the life of the heroine, Daly added.
According to Daly, the novel was published electronically in the beginning and then she preferred to publish a paper version, and decided to display it in the book fair in Cairo.
