Members from Syrian People\'s Assembly Damascus - Arab Today Syrian People\'s Assembly received medical aid from Mother Syria Group for Expatriates - Syrians expatriates in America - on Tuesday and delivered them to the Military Medical Services Directorate. People\'s Assembly Speaker Mohammad Jihad al-Laham said in a statement that the activities carried out by Syrian communities abroad show that \"all Syrians are doing their part to help their country.\" He said that this shipment is one of several sent by Syrian expats and that this one will be presented to the Armed Forces in \"appreciation of their sacrifices and heroic acts in protecting the homeland.\" He lauded the role of Syrians abroad and their support for their fellow Syrians in their time of need. Meeting the head of the Military Medical Services Directorate, Major General Maurice Mawwas, al-Laham asserted that the Syrian Army is the \"only guarantee\" of Syria\'s stability and security as it protects the people from terrorists supported by Arab and western regimes. The Speaker stressed that there can be no dialogue with terrorists who \"embrace the regressive Wahabi mentality\" and who use civilians as human shields. In turn, Mawwas voiced appreciation for the aid which will help heal civilians and military personnel injured in combat, saying that the aid expresses the material and moral support of Syrians for their army. The aid shipment includes medicine and medical supplies such as antibiotics, dressings for burns, cortisone, medicine for controlling blood sugar levels, hyperthermia medication, and painkillers.
