The Ministry of Awqaf will hold a congress early in May to probe ways to renew the religious discourse in a swift response to recommendations by the ongoing Arab summit and President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's address at the inaugural session, Egyptian Minister of Awqaf Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa said Sunday.
The congress will tackle renewing the religious discourse in a way that would help reshape the Egyptian and Arab intellect based on the latest developments and in conformity with the principles of religion, Gomaa told MENA on the sidelines of the summit.
The congress is expected to group representatives of various scientific, intellectual, religious and cultural aspects in the society, he added.
