Egypt's Grand Mufti Shawki Allam on Sunday said Egypt will beat terror sooner or later.
"The Egyptians will not be terrorized by such crimes committed by terrorist organizations to stir panic on the Egyptian borders," Allam said in a statement in response to terror acts that hit North Sinai earlier in the day.
The Egyptian security forces will make appropriate and quick response "that deters these coward people," said Allam.
He called on President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to wipe out terrorism and protect "the religion from exaggeration and distortion."
He also addressed Defense Minister Sedki Sobhy and Interior Minister Magdi Abdel Ghafar to assume their responsibilities in protecting the Egyptian people.
