Egypt's prominent poet Abdel-Rahman el-Abnoudy has visited Suez to see Captain Ghazaly, founderof the Earth Troupe resistance group, who has been unwell for some time. The two men reportedly told stories and songs of the Suez resistance, so alive during Egyptian wars and Israeli attacks on the Sinai during the Yom Kippur War. Dozens of people gathered round to join them. The Egyptian poet told the crowd of his memories, adding that reciting poems and singing songs was one of the most important ways for members of the public to give soldiers moral support during times of conflict and resistance. Witnessed said that el-Abnoudy’s visit greatly boosted Ghazaly’s spirits, as well as other patients at the hospital.
