Egyptian Minister of Education Tarek Shawki said that he intends to hold a social dialogue to develop secondary school system through electronic methods.
Shawki added, in an interview with Egypt today, that he decided to customize online portals for parents, teachers and students, to receive their suggestions about the secondary school.
In regard with the private lessons crisis, he said "we can eliminate the private lessons phenomena, if we abolished the current secondary school system within two years."
On the rumors about the abolition of free education, the minister stressed that no one can change the free education which was provided by the Constitution.
In regard with the new high school exams system, he said that the new system of secondary school exams is temporary solution to the problem of fraud.
The minister pointed out that the ministry is working in coordination with other ministries and state institutions to achieve the objectives of the development of education, noting that education is a societal responsibility and that the ministry is keen on communication and community dialogue with all partners.
