Jazz FM has apologised after it inadvertently broadcast several minutes of what appeared to be a soundtrack to a gay porn film. The unlikely interruption to the station's Funky Sensation programme was blamed by management on "unauthorised activity and inappropriate behaviour in the studio". The incident during the pre-recorded Saturday night show was mostly wordless but left little to the listeners' imagination. The digital station, which has an average weekly audience of just over half a million listeners, said in a statement on Monday: "There was some unauthorised activity and inappropriate behaviour in the studio on Saturday evening – activity we take extremely seriously. "An investigation regarding this matter began immediately and should it be necessary, disciplinary action will be taken against the individual concerned." The Funky Sensation show with Mike Vitti, Jazz FM's head of programming, features a mixture of funk, soul and jazz from the likes of Roy Ayers, Rick James and Teddy Pendergrass. The adult soundtrack could be heard in the background to the music as well as during adverts on the show. The station issued an apology on its website and is also expected to air a further apology to listeners at the beginning of next Saturday's show.
