Bayern Munich will open their second overseas office in Shanghai on September 1 for a bigger presence in the lucrative Chinese and Asian market, the Bundesliga champions said on Tuesday.
The Shanghai office opening follows that in 2014 of their first bureau outside Germany in New York, dpa reported.
"My staff and I will invest great energy in building up a network in China, supporting FC Bayern to the best possible extent in achieving the club's targets for this market," the designated office chief Rouven Kasper said in a club statement.
"We will do everything to extend the established and successful local strategy as rapidly as possible, driving forward the club's internationalisation in Asia." Bayern are very popular in China and toured the country last year in the pre-season. This year they will be back in the United States for training and matches ahead of the new season starting in August.
