Real Madrid will look to use the feel-good factor from their Clasico win in the Camp Nou Stadium on Saturday night to catapult them towards a place in the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Zinedine Zidane's side got perhaps the most favorable draw of the last eight when they were pitted to face German side Wolfsburg with the first leg in Germany on Wednesday.
Wolfsburg are struggling this season and are currently in eighth place in the Bundesleague with 38 points from 28 games. And their recent form has been poor in their domestic competition and a conflict with Danish striker, Nicklas Bendtner has hardly helped matters as the club looks to rescind his contract.
Real Madrid travel to Germany in an altogether different frame of mind. It could well be the case that they caught a tired Barca at the best possible time at the weekend and if the referee had sent off Sergio Ramos in the first half as he should have done, the result of the Clasico could have been different. However, the fact is that Cristiano Ronaldo's late goal gave Madrid the points and the pro-Madrid press have been basking in it ever since.
A defeat would have given pause for thought but Zidane's side now believes that an 11th Champions League title is possible and they will look to take the game to Wolfsburg from the start.
It is hard to imagine the coach making any changes to his starting 11, especially with a comfortable home game against Eibar at the weekend which will allow him to make squad rotations, so it will be business as usual for Ronaldo, Marcelo, Bale and company.
Real Madrid have traditionally struggled in Germany, but with Wolfsburg below their best and the Spanish side on song, it is hard to imagine anything other than another morale boosting triumph for Zidane's men.
