A record 659 clubs will receive compensation for releasing players for Euro 2016, European football's governing body UEFA said Tuesday.
The pay-out is worth 150 million euros based on an agreement reached with the European Club Association last year, German news agency DPA reported today.
Clubs who released players for the tournament in France from June 10 to July 10 receive 100 million euros, with 50 million benefiting clubs whose players took part in the qualifying phase.
