Abdullah Saeed Al Naboudah is hoping Al Ahli\'s performance in the semi-finals of the 2011 Gulf Clubs Championships in September will lay the foundation for a perfect season ahead. \"We are in the process of carrying out a lot of changes and we need to capitalise on these measures from the onset of the new season. And the semi-finals of the Gulf Clubs Championships will lay the right foundation for the season ahead,\" Al Naboudah told Gulf News. Al Ahli will travel to Kuwait for their away semi-final against Kazma, while neighbours Al Shabab will host Al Arabi also of Kuwait in the second semi-final on September 27. The second leg of the semi-finals will be held in Kuwait and Dubai on October 18. \"By the end of October we will have a new Gulf champion and hopefully it will be Al Ahli,\" Al Naboudah said. \"Considering what we have been through for the past two years, the Gulf competition is now really important for us as this will act as the foundation for us to take off next season. \"...we will be looking forward to carrying this winning form into our domestic season,\" he said.
