Qatar’s Al-Sadd will begin their campaign at the AFC Club Futsal Championship 2013 with an encounter against defending champions Sanaye Giti Pasand of Iran on Tuesday. The Qatari champions, who won the Zone 2 qualifications in April, had a solid preparation first in Kuwait and then back in Qatar and in Malaysia before the competition. “Sanaye are favourites but recently we played against another Iranian team but I still believe Sanaye are better,” Al Sadd coach Mohammed Eisa said referring Tuesday’s tie against the Iranian. “But like all other teams, we are here to win the title and we are very confident to achieve our goal,” the Qatari quipped. To conclude on September 01, 2013, the event features the participation of eight clubs including hosts Nagoya Oceans, defending champions Sanaye Giti Pasand (Iran), 2012 finalists Ardus (Uzbekistan), Chonburi Bluewave (Thailand), Shenzhen Nanling (China), Thai Son Nam (Vietnam), Al Sadd (Qatar) and Al Sadaka (Lebanon).
