Algeria beat Egypt 3-2 (23-25, 25-15, 19-25, 29-27, 15-10) Saturday at Harcha sports hall in Algiers, but failed to qualify for the 2014 World Cup in Italy (Sept. 23 – Oct. 12) as it had lost to Cameroon (1-3) on Thursday. Cameroon leads the rankings (13 points), ahead of Egypt (12 points), while Algeria, the host country, ranks third (11 points). Cameroun will thus compete in Italy's world cup, along with Tunisia which booked its berth during a qualifying tournament in Nairobi, Kenya, last February. On the same day (Saturday), Botswana easily beat DR Congo 3-0 (25-15, 25-19, 25-21). Source: APS
