Algerian cyclist Adil Barbari (Sovac Club) won the first step of the Grand Cycling Tour of Algeria which took place Sunday in Algiers over a course linking Algiers to Ain Defla (112.5 km) ahead of Eritrean Mekseb Bebesay and Emirati Youcef Mohamed. Barbari finished in 2h 41 min 32sec ahead of Eritrean cyclist (2h 42 min 14 sec) and Youcef Mohamed (2h 42 min 14sec). The second step of this international competition will take place on Monday in Oran over a distance linking El Bahia to the province of Mostaganem (169.7 km). Source: APS
