Al Ain maintained their five-point lead at the top of the UAE League with a 1-1 draw at closest rivals Al Shabab on Wednesday. The hosts took an early lead when Ignacio Scocco struck after six minutes, but Cesar levelled eight minutes after the break to earn a point for Al Ain. Emirates remained bottom of the table after they lost 3-1 at home to Al Nasr. Mark Bresciano put Al Nasr in front after 14 minutes and, although Akarandut Orok equalised 11 minutes later, second-half goals from Amara Diane and Habib Alfardan secured victory. Finally, Ajman won 3-1 at Sharjah. Hassan Matouq scored twice while Karim Kerkar got the other, with Marcelinho replying for Sharjah.
