Egypt started their adventure in Toulon’s friendly tournament with a 3-0 loss to the Netherlands on Wednesday. Harras El-Hodoud forward Ahmed Eid Abdel-Malek, one of Hany Ramzy's three over-age choices, failed to impress during the game – which witnessed a poor performance by the Egyptian team especially after Saleh Gomaa's dismissal in the 57th minute of the game. Following this defeat, Egypt are last in the group, while Netherlands goes through to the top ahead of Turkey who defeated Japan earlier on the day. Egypt will face Turkey on Friday in their second game of the tournament.
