Fareed Al Zadjali, the former vice-chairman of Oman Basketball Association (OBA) has won 15 votes from 22 clubs to become the chairman of OBA, as the elections to the board were held yesterday. Hisham Al Adhwani who was the general secretary in the previous board lead by Habib Macki has won 18 votes to become the vice-chairman. Assad Al Hassani has been elected as the general-secretary while Khalid Al Yahmadi is the treasurer. Younus Al Zadjali, Khalid Al Zadjali, Ahmed Al Rowas, Mallalah Al Balushi and Abdullah Al Yafi have been elected as new board members. Speaking to Times Sport, a delighted Zadjali said he will draw a road-map for the next four years. \"We will first draw our plans for the next four years. I am extremely happy with the team. Few of them are from the previous board and we will work as a team,\" he added. Zadjali defeated Abdullah Al Hadhrami (3 votes) and Talal Al Rahby (4 votes) to win the four year term. Hisham said while the previous board was instrumental in building a strong foundation for the game, he will work with thenew board to further promote the game in the country. \"The previous board in which I was part of had played a key role in developing the game and we will now promote the game across the country,\" he added.
