Qatari players displayed widely - praised performance in the conclusion of the 4th GCC Men Taekwondo Championship organized by Qatar Taekwondo Federation (QTF) at the indoor hall of Qatar’s Women Sports Committee on Saturday. Qatar’s Mohammed Saad Zaheer confidently won the gold medal in Under 58kg after defeating Abdullah Al Mansoor of Kuwait 19-6 in the final match. Qatari Taekwondo team managed in the second place overall after winning two gold medals, two sliver and two bronze behind the leaders and first place winners Kuwait who got 4 gold medals, KSA team finished in the third place and Oman in the fourth place. At the prize distribution ceremony, Mr. Khalia Abdulrahman Al Kubaisi, the Assistant-Secretary General of QTF handed over the medals and trophies to the top ranked winners in a festive sport scene. The prestigious event brought together 37 players from the six GCC nations including hosts Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia to compete in 8 weights during the three-day event, including Under 54kg, Under 58 kg, Under 68 kg, Under 74kg, Under 80kg, Under 87kg and Over 87kg.
