President of the Iraqi Football Association, Najeh Humoud, said that his country has not yet taken the decision of withdrawal from the 22nd Gulf Cup, after the decision was taken to transfer the event from Basra to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Humoud told Bahrain News Agency (BNA) that Iraq has always been on the side of Gulf unity, and will not take such a decision, only after a careful study. He expressed reservations about the decision of transferring the tournament from his country, but he expressed understanding to the stance of the heads of the Gulf associations that aims to the public interest of the game, wishing Saudis success in hosting the event in Jeddah.
