Kuwait's men's under-15s took gold at the 24th Arab Table Tennis Championships, defeating Qatar by 3-1 sets on Sunday, two days after the under-12s took sliver.
"This win is a significant achievement for Kuwaiti table tennis," Mishaal Al-Daihani, Kuwait national team director told KUNA on the win he said was "unprecedented." The medal came two days after the under-12s took silver in the just-concluded competition of all ages, which also includes the participation of women squads.
Al-Daihani praised the good performance put out by Abdullah Al-Bahrani, Marzouq Al-Rashidi and Mishaal Al-Kanderi, as well as the efforts exerted by the coaching staff, including head coach Dakheel Al-Habaishi.
The team official dedicated the win to His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, the government, and the Kuwaiti people.
The gold medal came on the final day of the tournament which grouped a total 16 Arab nations, including Kuwait.
