The Kuwaiti team of jet skiers, taking part in the international jet skiing championship in the state of Arizona in the United States, acquitted themselves well by clinching seven medals in today's opening rounds of racing.
In a statement issued today by the Kuwait Sea Sport Club, sponsoring the team, it noted that jet skier Abdulaziz Al-Omar won one gold medal and three silver ones whereas his teammate Rashid Al-Rashid won a gold one.
Moreover, their teammate Nawaf Al-Farhan garnered two bronze medals.
For 32 years, the championship has been held over ten days in October on Lake Havasu in Arizona. The event attracts nearly 6,000 spectators and hundreds of the world's best personal watercraft racers from more than 50 nations.
The Kuwaiti team consists of nine competitors this year, some of whom have the distinction of being world champions in their events.
