Qatar has fired Brazil’s Sebastiao Lazaroni after only four months in charge of the national team in the oil-rich Gulf country that will host the 2022 World Cup.Qatar’s official news agency says the Football Association has terminated Lazaroni’s contract after “a series of weak performances,” including the team’s failure to progress beyond the group stage in the Arab Games last week. The report on Monday did not say who will replace Lazaroni, the third Qatar coach to have been sacked this year. The Gulf nation has never qualified for the World Cup and is under pressure to improve after becoming the first Arab country to win hosting rights to football’s biggest event.Meanwhile, Howard Webb of England, who showed a record 14 yellow cards in last year’s World Cup final between champions Spain and runners-up Netherlands, was named on Tuesday on a list of 12 referees for Euro 2012.
