Amir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani met Wednesday with FIFA President Joseph Blatter, who is visiting the country at the invitation of Amir, Qatar News Agency reported.
During the meeting, Sheikh Tamim reviewed with the FIFA President existing relations of cooperation between Qatar and the International Federation and ways of enhancing them, in addition to a number of topics of common interest, especially with regard to the latest preparations for the organization of the 2022 World Cup.
The meeting also reviewed the achievements made on projects related to the organization of the tournament.
Blatter, during the meeting, said "It was great to see his (the Amir) and Qatarآ’s commitment to use the 2022 FIFA World Cup to achieve positive social change and to promote the host country and the region.
Qatar takes its responsibility as host serious. We also discussed the importance to further development of football in the region." The meeting was attended by Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al-Thani; the Amir's Personal Representative, and by FIFA Secretary General Jerome Valcke.
