Secretary-General of Qatar Olympic Committee Dr Thani bin Abdulrahman Al Kuwari praised Wednesday the success of the third edition of Jeem Cup, which was concluded earlier today.
The final of the competition was played today and was a thrilling encounter that saw France win the title, after beating Morocco 11-10 via penalty kicks. The Secretary-General describe the competition as a unique opportunity for young athletes from around the world to meet children from different cultures and social backgrounds. The competition helps the participants nurture their sense of respect and friendship, His Excellency added.
For his part, Director of Jeem Cup Saad Al Hudaifi said that this year's edition was a big success. He noted that the cup has literally turned into mini World Cup for those participating. He expressed his thanks for HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, for his leadership of the country and commitment to sports. Al Hudaifi also expressed his thanks to HH Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhain Al-Thani Wife of HH the Emir for the support of the competition.
