Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) is preparing to organize Traditional Shawaheef Rowing Championship on the occasion of the Country’s National Sport Day scheduled for February 11 at Doha Cornish Sea. The prestigious traditional championship will bring together around 10 teams, comprising elite rowing sporting amateurs and pioneers who will compete for a 3 kilometers distance on the Sea. The championship Organizing Committee allocated valuable prize money reaches QR 4000.000 to be distributed among the top winners. the first place winners get a handsome purse QR 1000,000 , the runners – up get richer by QR 700,000, the third place winners receive QR 600.000, fourth place winners will gain QR 500.000, the fifth place (QR 400.000), the sixth place (QR 300.000), the seventh place (QR 200.000), the eighth place (QR 150.000), the ninth place (QR 100.000) and tenth place (QR 50.000). In a press release on Wednesday , rower Hamad Gumma Al Sulaiti, Head of Sharq Shahoof team said the team members are performing their regular trainings in preparation for the National Sport Day. Traditional Al Shawahef rowing championship opening proceedings on the day.
