Assarain B registered a thumping 271-run win against Oman Orix Leasing when the two teams locked horns in an Enhance sponsored F Division Group A 25 overs a side match played during the weekend at the Municipality ground No.3 at Al Amerat. Electing to bat Assarain B top order batsman made merry scoring 352 runs form the loss of 2 wickets of 25 overs including 30 penalty runs for late arrival to the ground of their opponents. Openers Vishwanath Bhaskar made an unbeaten 115 (57b, 3x6 and 15x4) and together with his partner Muhammed Naseem 75 (35b, 3x6 and 10x4) put together 155 runs for the first wicket. Coming in at the fall of the first wicket skipper Ranjith Nair 100 (44b, 19x4) together with Vishwanth added 134 runs for the second wicket. Requiring a mammoth 353 for victory Oman Orix were bowled out for a measly 81 off 14.5 overs with opening batsman Ashfaq Khalifa contributing 20 (19b, 4x4). The bowling department was spearheaded by Saleem Akhtar who ended with brilliant figures of 4 for 27 off 5 overs with support from Rajiv A. 2 for 16 and Vijayanand D. 2 for 18.
