Egypt will compete along with Ghana, Mali and Uganda in Group D in the 2017 CAF Cup of Nations in Gabon.
The draw for the championship was held in Libreville on Wednesday.
The top seeds before the draw were Gabon, Ivory Coast, Ghana and Algeria.
Gabon, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Guinea Bissau were drawn in Group A. Group B comprises Algeria, Tunisia, Senegal, Zimbabwe.
Ivory Coast, DR Congo, Morocco, Togo were brought together in Group C.
Egypt are the record holders with seven titles.
