Adrian Mannarino collected a first-round upset victory Tuesday at the Heineken Open tennis tournament in New Zealand. Mannarino eliminated fifth-seeded Kevin Anderson 6-3, 6-3 in just more than an hour. Mannarino lost just seven points over nine service games. He won 90 percent of the points when he got his first serve in, which he did nearly three-quarters of the time. No. 8-seeded Philipp Kohlschreiber escaped a challenge from Stephane Bohli 6-4, 4-6, 6-4. Kohlschreiber landed just 46 percent of his first serves but still won 69 percent of the points on serve. Also Tuesday, Guillermo Garcia-Lopez defeated Igor Kunitsyn 2-6, 6-4, 6-2 and Potito Starace ran over Albert Montanes 6-3, 6-2. Other first-round winners Tuesday were Lukas Ramos, Carlos Berlocq, Olivier Rochus, Juan Carlos Ferrero and Ryan Harrison.
