Jebel Ali Racecourse tomorrow stages its penultimate race meeting of the 2011-2012 UAE racing season, featuring the Listed Jebel Ali Sprint, which has attracted a strong field of 10 runners. Among the runners are Satish Seemar\'s Spin Cycle, winner of the 1000m contest under Frankie Dettori twelve months ago and the Musabah Al Muhairi-trained Russian Rock, who stormed to an impressive victory in the prep race two weeks ago. Other notable runners including four-time Jebel Ali winner Kilt Rock, Jebel Ali-based sprinter Alo Pura and former Jebel Ali Sprint sensation Terrific Challenge. The race, which carries a purse of Dh500,000 will be sponsored by Shadwell Farm, the thoroughbred breeding operation of Shaikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance. Mirza Al Sayegh, Shadwell\'s Investment Director, said Shaikh Hamdan was delighted to support the popular event and will hopefully continue to be associated with it in the years to comes. \"Shaikh Hamdan could not be happier to support racing at Jebel Ali and its principal races like the Jebel Ali Sprint,\" he said. \"The racecourse has played an important role in developing horse racing in the UAE by the quality of races it stages and the large crowds that it attracts at each meeting. \"We look forward to another exciting renewal of the Jebel Ali Sprint on Friday, and encourage more fans to support racing at the venue.\" The five support races on the card will be sponsored by Roma Capannelle Racecourse, Italy, American University of Sharjah, Higher College of Technology and Derrinstown Stud Sharif Al Halawani, Manager of Jebel Ali Racecourse said that many surprises have been planned for the big meeting. \"A total number of 100 valuable gifts including electronic and home appliances will be given away to lucky race goers,\" he said. \"Free coupons will be distributed along with the pick-six coupons at the entry gates. We hope all race goers will enjoy a special afternoon.\" The Dubai International Arabian Horseracing Centre will continue to support the Best Turned Out competition In addition a 2012 model car will be raffled against Dh10 tickets.
