 Riyadh Foods and Jamoom Tigers recorded narrow victories while Makkah Eagles, KAIA and UT Lines had it easy against their opponents in the 12th-week matches in the Jotun Paints Saudi Cup League cricket tournament.
Jotun Saudia Company Limited sponsored the tournament run by Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA).
Riyadh Foods sneaked in a three-run win over Makkah Kings thanks to Mohsin’s brilliant spell of 5 for 23 after openers Emad (56) and Rafaqat (69) had earlier carried their bats with an unbeaten partnership of 164 for the opening wicket, despite an unbeaten 89 by Abdul Raheem ended up on the losing side.
Starring Usman (56) and Ismail (55 runs and 3 for 34) Jamoom Tigers eked out a two-wicket win over Pak Shaheen.
Makkah Eagles raced to a 32-run win over Hyderabad Green behind Malik’s knock of 73 runs (5 fours, 3 sixes).
KAIA bowlers Ahsan (3 for 26), Javed (3 for 19) and Haroon (2 for 33) conspired to restrict Al-Burj to 146 all out. Haroon (63) and Javed (39) also shone with the bat to give their team victory by six wickets. Shad Mohammed of UT Lines led from the front with a superb 105 studded with 14 fours and 5 sixes to power his side to a huge nine-wicket win over Eirad Travel.
