London - Arabstoday

Tigres Monterrey have claimed their first Mexican championship since 1982 after a bad tempered second leg to the final against Santos Laguna finished 3-1 in their favour on Sunday. Tigres came from behind to wrap up a 4-1 aggregate victory, but only after the first of three red cards in the match had reduced Santos to ten men. Carrying a 1-0 advantage from the first leg, Tigres were in an even better position when Santos\' goalkeeper Oswaldo Sanchez saw red after only 12 minutes for fouling Bairros Danilinho but Lucas Lobos missed the resulting penalty. Instead, it was Santos who levelled the tie on aggregate when Oribe Peralta struck on the half-hour mark. But Tigres turned it around in the second half, with Hector Mancilla and Danilinho finding the net to put them back in front. Things turned nasty in the 69th minute when Santos\' Felipe Baloy saw red for a nasty tackle and Tigres\' Israel Jimenez followed for his reaction, leaving only 19 players on the pitch. Tigres made use of the extra space to add a late third through substitute Alan Pulido and wrap up a memorable night for their supporters.
