By Eric Thomas: Former three division world champion Johnny Tapia (59-5-2, 30 KO’s) has been found dead in his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Sunday. As of now, there’s still no cause of death and an autopsy expected to be done to find out what happened to the 45-year-old ex-champion. Tapia last fought in June of last year, beating Mauricio Pastrana. Tapia was one of the best fighters at super flyweight, holding the WBOtitle from 1994 to 1998. He also held the IBF super flyweight title, WBA World bantamweight title and IBF featherweight title. He was an excellent fighter despite having lost three years of his career between 1990 to 1994 due to legal problems.
