Real Madrid playmaker Kaka and full-backs Alvaro Arbeloa and Marcelo have all been ruled out of their side's Champions League group game at Lyon on Wednesday. "Arbeloa, Marcelo and Kaka have been ruled out because of injuries," read a statement on the Madrid website published on Tuesday. Arbeloa and Kaka both missed training on Monday. Spanish right-back Arbeloa has a problem with his left thigh, while Brazilian attacking midfielder Kaka has been sidelined by a muscle injury in his right leg. The club revealed on Tuesday that Kaka's compatriot Marcelo has injured a muscle in his left thigh. Portuguese centre-back Ricardo Carvalho, who was been plagued by back problems for a month, was also not included in the squad. Real, who thrashed Lyon 4-0 in Madrid in their previous outing, top Group D with nine points after three games and will secure a place in the last 16 with victory over Remi Garde's side.
