Lyon lose Bastos and Vercoutre for Madrid return

Michel Bastos is set to miss Olympique Lyonnais\' visit of Real Madrid CF on Wednesday because of a hamstring injury. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Rémy Vercoutre has been ruled out for three months due to an injury sustained at home last night. The second-choice custodian has since undergone surgery on a ruptured tendon in his right foot. Lyon were defeated 4-0 when they travelled to Spain on 18 October and sit third in Group D, level on points with their matchday five opponents AFC Ajax. Madrid are five points clear at the summit with a perfect record from their three games.
