Visiting Sudanese President Omar al Bashir stressed that the Egyptian-Sudanese committee meeting proves the two sides' interest in boosting bilateral cooperation.
The committee meeting also highlights the distinguished ties between the two countries, Bashir said Wednesday during the committee meeting which he co-chairs with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
Sudanese President Omar Bashir said "we are adamant to confront the challenges besetting bilateral cooperation."
He called for exchanging benefits through well-examined giant projects to be tendered by the ministries of both countries in order to bolster economic cooperation and, hence, alleviate people's suffering, he said.
He added that this would lead to strategic integration between the two countries.
President Bashir said the inauguration of the Qastal-Ashkeet and Arqeen crossings recently constitutes a valuable bridge for communications and peaceful and societal co-existence between the two countries.
Addressing the Egyptian-Sudanese joint higher committee, Bashir called for safeguarding the Four Freedoms Agreement signed earlier by the two countries to overcome obstacles facing the Egyptian and Sudanese peoples.
He further stressed the importance of coordinating efforts to solve the Libyan crisis, voicing his country's support for the internationally-recognized Libyan government which was formed upon the Morocco-hosted Skhirat agreement.
Speaking about the situation in Syria, Bashir said his country seeks to reach a peaceful solution for the Syrian crisis to ensure a decent life for the Syrian people and maintain the country's unity.
He also urged urgent solutions for the phenomena of terrorism and illegal immigration to bring about security and stability in Africa.
