Egyptian expert Abdullah Al Moghazi underline the notable decline in the participation of young people, blaming the Egyptian government for ignoring this critical category of the Egyptian community. He noted that the ministerial reshuffle has not contained any youth despite the presidential program to qualify the young people for leadership.
He added that a state of uncertainty still dominates the political life in Egypt, criticizing the standards upon which the new ministers have been chosen. He added, “It is difficult to assess the standards upon which the former ministers have been excluded. We also cannot assess the choice of the new ministers for the same reason.”
The Egyptian expert, who served as assistant of former prime minister, added that the Egyptian people do not care of the ministerial reshuffle, as they were expecting the appointment of a political minister with economic background. He underestimated the parliamentary measures to ratify the governmental appointments, saying that everyone realizes that the parliament came to accept the governmental proposals despite the increasing complaints over the dealing of the ministers with them.
He expressed his concern over the decisions to dismiss the parliamentarians who have been elected by the people, stressing that the level of freedoms witnessed notable decline. Even the media channels and newspapers, he added, are taking the same approach to support the government. He stressed that such approach poses serious threat against the popular aspirations to build their modern state in Egypt.
Regarding the economic situation, Moghazi, who served as spokesperson of Sisi’s electoral campaign, said that the dollar rise was not justified, saying that the current decline of dollar does not reflect the economic improvement, while it came as a result of the governmental measures to impede the importations.
He added that Egypt is not poor country in its sources, while the country needs a wise management, calling Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi for forming economic government to benefit from the economic projects.
He praised the conferences organized by the president to support the young people, while he criticized the slowness of the government to implement the recommendations issued by these conferences. He appreciated the Egyptian president for his keenness to contact with the Egyptian youth who are considered the backbone of Egypt’s future.
He ruled out that the local elections will be conducted before the second half of this year, stressing that if the elections have not been conducted this year, they would not be conducted before the coming presidential elections scheduled to be held in the next year.
