Advisor to the Russian Parliament, Leonid Isayev expressed his appreciation to the role performed by the Egyptian government in different regional and international issues, saying that the relations between Egypt and Russia are critical and cannot be abandoned.
He added that relations between the two countries have developed significantly, especially in light of the rapprochement between Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
He described the latest agreements signed between the Egyptian government and its Russian counterpart as a new turning point in the relations between the two countries during the current critical period.
He praised the visit conducted by Russian President Vladimir Putin to Cairo, saying that the visit reflects the realization of the world leader of the importance of the role performed by Egypt during the current period on both regional and international level.
He underlined profound Egyptian-Russian relations and said his country seeks to expand relations with Egypt in the various fields, saying that historical relations between the two countries are deeply-rooted. He described the nuclear cooperation between Egypt and Russia as economic turning point.
He added that the existence of a nuclear plant for peaceful uses will solve many of the economic problems experienced by Egypt, and our expertise in this area of the best talent in the world, so I think that this project will open multiple perspectives and sources of income for Egypt.
