Leader of Popular Mobilization Forces in Anbar Abdullah Al Geighify said that a number of districts, including Enna, Rawa and Qaem, will be liberated as soon as possible, saying that over two thousand American soldiers arrived at Assad Military Base to support the Iraqi security forces in their operations against ISIS extremist group.
He added, in an interview with “Arabs Today”, that the military equipment will move to liberate the areas immediately after the liberation of Mousl. He stressed the need for keeping a number of American troops in these areas even after their cleansing from the extremist elements.
He added that the security forces in Iraq will not be able to control the areas on the borders between Iraq and Syria, saying that the American troops reached to Ain Al Assad military base to control the border area.
He explained that the unlicensed weapons are circulating among the clans in Basra, and we will work in the coming period to issue identification cards to those factions, to distinguish the official factions and to exclude of other factions as well as the proliferation of weapons between the clans, which reflected negatively on the security of citizens.
Concerning the increase of the crimes in the province, he said that the security situation during the recent period has witnessed significant tension and a rise in crime rates, but the security forces have arrested a number of pushers and drug traffickers.
He added, “When the military operations started to liberate the city’s left bank, the residents turned to transfer to the right bank. However, the current challenge facing the Iraqi troops is the large number of civilians existed in the right bank of Mousl. The families started to leave the areas of conflict, while the preparations for receiving those displaced people are not enough.
He underlined the importance of the parliamentary role to contain the crisis, saying that the committee follows the developments to refer the formal reports to the parliament, including the basic needs of the displaced people. He stressed the need for a serious role for the government and other international organizations to perform a role to help the displaced people.
He warned, “If the government has not responded to our demands, the Iraqis would face genocide. The government should take serious steps to contain the current crisis witnessed in the country.”
