A new government will be formed in Sudan within the coming days, President Omar Bashir said Tuesday.
Bashir promised that the new government will act to complete the development process in the country in line with his electoral platform.
In his speech before the national legislative authority and following his inauguration ceremony, Bashir stressed that he will be a president of all Sudanese regardless of who voted for him and who did not.
The polls were fairly conducted under the supervision of local and international observers, he noted.
He thanked all those who had contributed to completing the electoral process.
The Sudanese people are keen on peaceful power-sharing through ballot boxes, the president said.
He also thanked the Sudanese Armed Forces, security apparatus and the national intelligence agency for their contribution to securing the vote.
Bashir congratulated Sudanese women who were able to get one third of parliamentary seats.
He said Khartoum will work to continue dialogue with the West until relations are back to normal.
