Hariri said the atmosphere prevailed during the armed Syrian opposition delegation's consultations with Russia in the Kazakh capital of Astana was “positive,” and that a development that needs to be used to improve ties.
"A few months ago, none in the Syrian opposition could imagine a meeting with the Russians. Today we see that the Russian side is sending out a positive atmosphere," Hariri said Tuesday.
He added that the delegation is "trying to benefit from this positive atmosphere."
"Relationships between Russia and Syria are not new, we try to benefit and bring them back to the previous level," Hariri reiterated.
By the way, Syrian opposition is not planning direct negotiations with the Iranian delegation in Astana on Tuesday, he said.
"The will be no direct meetings or talks with the Iranians, we have not planned anything," Hariri said.
