Hot on the heels of signing Honduras left-back Emilio Izaguirre from Scottish champions Celtic, Saudi Arabia’s Al-Fayha FC has announced two further summer recruits in Colombian winger Danilo Asprilla and Greek midfielder Alexandros Tziolis.
Asprilla joins from UAE side Al-Ain, where he scored seven goals in 26 appearances following a switch from Bulgaria’s Litex Lovech in January 2016.
The 28-year-old previously represented Qatar’s Al-Shahania back in 2009, when he registered an identical goals-to-games ratio to the one he has just achieved at “The Boss” in the UAE’s “Garden City.”
Asprilla has also had prior stints in Brazil (Juventude, 2008), his native Colombia (Deportivo Pereira in 2010, Independiente Santa Fe from 2012-2013, and Patriotas Boyaca in 2013) and Uruguay (Rampla Juniors from 2011-2012).
Tziolis meanwhile had bookended spells at AS Monaco (2012-2013), and in Germany (Werder Bremen in 2009), Italy (Siena, 2010-2011) and Spain (Racing Santander, 2010-2012) with seasons in his homeland representing Panionios (2002-2005), Panathinaikos (2005-2010) and PAOK Salonika (2013-2016). He was loaned out to APOEL Nicosia and Turkey’s Kayserispor in 2012 and 2014 respectively and spent six months at Hearts in Scotland last term
