Arci-5 claimed Team of the Week honors with the lead to boot during the second session in the OFBC Friday Afternoon League Season 7 at the Iceland Bowling Center here.
Captained by Eli Arciaga, Arci-5 used a fast start to pool the top tally of 21 points on total pinfalls of 2,370.
RTJ Baguio Transient House got a surprising solid display from senior bowler Rudy Jamon to finish the session at second place on 19 points and total pinfalls of 2, 396.
Spareshots tallied 17 points and total poinfalls of 2, 300 to be in third place on the day followed by Youngsters (13 points, 2, 259 pinfalls), Lucky Ones (10 2, 112) and Amygdala Strikers (4 1,771).
Arci-5 notched two first-place points of 6 in the first two games to build the foundation of its Team of the Week victory in the young tournament while also taking the lead from first Team of the Week Lucky Ones.
Sergio Modar and Arciaga shot 508 and 506 respectively at the helm of Arci-5 that also drew 477 from Ramon Fabro, 458 from Nap Patayan and 421 from Delia Javing.
Jamon produced the high series with handicap of 570 to clinch the men’s Bowler of the Week award as he led the Transient House’s charge that saw Rico Bulalayao hit 558 to go with the 454 by Malou Nidoy, 410 by Ryan Liwagon and 404 by Jack Jarin.
Spareshots recovered well in the last two games after a so-so start thanks to the duo of Dann Atubang and Benj Espinosa who returned 527 and 508. Noli de Leon added 455, Carmen Duma 439 and Alex Duma 370.
Jaime Flores missed 500-series by three pins on 497 at the forefront of Youngsters. The other scorers were Sheila Monserate on 492, Dan Garret Mojares on 474, Jeff Magallanes on 417 and Demet Velasquez on 379.
Rose Agustin put away the ladies’ Bowler of the Week plum on 500 to give her team, Lucky Ones, a consolation for the loss of first place in the team standings in the five-man team league event organized by Overseas Filipino Bowlers Club. Jose Antonio Bayag Jr. tossed in 457 while Johara Palot made 392, Edwin Agustin 388 and Alan Ornedo 384.
Romy Cruz led Amygdala on 356.
