French side Lille has offered Zambian defender Stopilla Sunzu a three-year contract, the Zambia Daily Mail reported on Tuesday.
Sunzu, who was on loan at Lille from Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua, was scheduled to arrive in France this week to sign the deal.
The towering central defender however said the deal was subject to negotiations with the Chinese side.
"Yes, there is that deal but I have not signed yet. I am going to have a meeting with my agent," he is quoted saying by the paper.
He said He wanted to remain at the French side because he wanted to play in the Europa league.
Lille qualified to the Europa League last Saturday after beating rivals AS Saint-Etienne 1-0 in their final Ligue 1 match to finish 5th on the log.
Sunzu played 33 of the 38 matches of the 2015/2016 season at Lille, making the first team 12 times and came off the bench 21 times. He also scored one goal during the season.
