Luxor Governor Mohamed Badr ordered to move two ferries from Luxor city to Esna city to facilitate transportation of residents from eastern bank of Nile to the western one.
The move comes after new Esna Lock was closed to traffic for a month over renovation works.
Esna Lock, a 17m wide, 221m long and 14.6m depth navigation vent, was closed a week ago as authorities began renovating the bridge resting over it.
All vehicles were referred to the Old Esna bridge barrages that are closed at certain hours evrey day for the passage of cruiseliners, disrupting the daily life of Esna residents.
